How Can We Save The Environment?

And what role do we play with our lives as individuals?

What’s the point of this mini series?

Starting with an Open Letter to the Graduating Class, this short series of articles is intended to be a tool providing a brief introduction to one of the most trying issues of our times. After the open letter, it continues with the pages,- “What is global warming?” and, “What are greenhouse gases?

In addition, the question, “Global warming or climate change?”, was addressed in order to clarify the differences between our word choices. As well, the importance of preserving and protecting our forests was discussed in the section, “What is Deforestation?

Lastly, some of the impacts of modern-day agriculture were highlighted in the section, “Agriculture and Climate Change.“

The point is that everything in life is interconnected.

And each of us is living our lives right in the middle of it.

It’s something we will come back to over and over again.

As the author, if there’s one bit of karma I am hoping to pass along, it’s that we are all inter-connected, both with each other, as well as with future generations!

The issues surrounding global warming and climate change are complex and intertwined. And they are associated with a broad range of personal lifestyle choices,- forever linked with the challenges of providing transportation for, as well as feeding, an ever-growing human population.

In doing the research for this, I’ve noticed we spend a lot of time blaming the corporations, and the corrupt politicians for our problems.

Washing our hands of it!

But I’m here to express that nothing is going to change until we each begin to see ourselves as centerpieces in the world, instead of as spectators, observing from the outside in.

It’s a world-view of positive energy.

Positive Karma!

Pass it on!

A Tale of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all.”

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:

“Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

What’s coming next is a list and exposition of the top ways that each of us can pitch in our efforts to help save the environment.

With suggestions on how to manage the self-sacrifice that the effort entails.

It’s about the cars that we drive, and the products that we buy, and the food that we eat.

And the choices that each of us make, every single day of our lives.

And so finally, wherever you are at in your life today, as you move forward stepping from one stage to another, what I’m asking you to do is look yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself,-

Which wolf will you feed?

“Be the Change you wish to see in the World…”

Welcome to my labor of love!

Please check back for the upcoming article, and thank you for being here!

Thank you for caring about our planet, and thank you for taking the time to read, and listen..

Sincerely yours,

John E
