Bringing Things Together
(OK,- here we go!)
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
Did you know that Nikola Tesla, the mastermind of frequency and vibration, the man, the myth, the legend!,- would not sit down and eat a steak dinner?
Did you know that Albert Einstein, the Nobel Prize winner regarded as the founder of modern physics,- was a firm believer in animal rights?
Buddha, Tolstoy, Da Vinci, Gandhi, Twain, Plato, Pythagoras, Socrates, Shelley,.. the list goes on. History is littered with the names of so many brilliant people who were either vegan, or vegetarian, or who shared a belief in the concept of animals as sentient beings.
And then there’s me! Lol!
The North Carolinian vegan web designer, slash server extraordinaire!
In moving forward with this note,- if you can possibly bear with me for just one more moment, in this section I want to share with you a personal belief of mine, that I have held close to my heart for a long time;-
And that belief is, I believe people are hard-wired to detect insincerity faster than just about anything…
We are all programmed for it!
I believe our inner voices send us messages, tipping us off, letting us know when we should be wary about a person or situation…
Have you ever said to yourself, “I don’t trust this situation,- something seems a bit off…” ?
Or maybe,- “I don’t know why, but this feels a bit sketchy…”
That was your inner voice talking to you. Your intuition.
Because I hold this belief close to my heart, as I’m writing I’m asking myself,- how can I represent myself honestly and straightforwardly here;- share my thoughts, my hopes and dreams, all without a false veneer?
Not pretending to be something more, or something less, than what I am.
The reason why?
I wouldn’t want you or anyone else to trust my words here today, only to find out tomorrow that I had a hidden agenda the entire time. At that point, I would risk losing your trust forever.
In the interest of this kind of transparency, I would like to discuss and share upfront with you, and in introducing this site, how my personal diet and lifestyle choices speak centrally to the message I intend to convey.
You will see a lot written about this in the blog coming up.
The tiny faint voice of a ‘who’, echoing out to you from a vast sea of people…
For those of you who don’t already know me personally, my name is John Edwards, and I am a web designer (slash) restaurant worker living in Raleigh, North Carolina.
By all accounts, just an ordinary person!
But I am vegetarian for 29 years, and full-on vegan for about 10 years. And 55 years old!
As I see birthday number 56 coming up around the corner, depending on your age, if you’re a younger person in the audience, you may be figuring out how to begin your life, launching yourself on this amazing journey into the unknown, at the same time I am asking myself what I want to do with the remainder of my days!,- fully aware even since my youth that the beauty of life is such a fleeting thing!
Mark Twain once said, the two most important days in your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why. As I cast my own eyes towards the future, I know that there is something special that I want to include,- I want to share this amazing lifestyle that I have found!
It ties back into everything we have discussed!
Some of the most brilliant minds in history are people we trust with technology. Even the wireless technology behind that device you are looking at right now depends on their ideas. But when it comes to lifestyle,- we ignore them. Why is this?
People often ask me why I became vegan, but I rarely have time to fully answer why. The short story is that I am vegan for the animals. It’s love,- pure and simple.
Love for all of the sentient life forms on this amazing planet.
And if there were no other reasons, I would personally consider it sufficient since for that reason alone I would like to live my life without inflicting cruelty on any other living being.
But there are more reasons.
I am also vegan for the planet, as well as for the benefit of my own personal health.
The rest of the details I plan to set forth, including my exact diet, for you to follow or not-follow as you wish, and my exact exercise plan, and all of the reasons why, in this forthcoming blog here. Including every detail of diet and recipe free of charge. Omitting nothing, and freely available to anyone wishing to learn more. Explore if you are interested, if not,- of course there is no grudge!
As you will see, I am a firm believer in freedom of choice.
This is at the crux of my life philosophy. The point of sharing this world-view of love and kindness, coupled with freedom of choice, is the very heart of my reason for writing.
The energy I get, the immune system boost I get, and the feeling of clarity and well-being I get from living an eco-friendly and cruelty-free lifestyle are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and nothing makes me happier than sharing this lifestyle with you!
Perhaps there are some questions that pop into your mind?
After all, here in the everyday world of real-life, there’s hardly a day that goes by that someone doesn’t ask me,-“Why did you become vegan?”
Then they ask,-
“What do you eat?”
“How do you get your protein?”
And it may surprise you how often someone says, “I tried it myself once, and I only lasted for about three days!!”
In speaking to these ‘frequently asked questions’, I would like to discuss and pass along to you the ways in which I believe lifestyle choices have the greatest impact on your personal health, and your energy, and importantly, the ways in which this energy passes through you,- in the same manner as being a conscientious consumer, reaching back from the past, to the present and future; including as well how it sets an example for others, as well as impacts the world around you.
To summarize the main points I have mentioned,- I became vegan for the animals, for the planet, and for my health..
And this has been so incredibly easy!
And so rewarding!
These points will be elucidated further later on, but to learn more for now, please read on…
